Summer Trend To Love: Distressed Denim Shorts

This has been the summer of distressed denim shorts.  We've seen mega ripped up versions like these Rag & Bone shorts that have been super popular this summer, and also much tamer versions which I tend to prefer.  The beauty of cut offs is that they go with almost anything; from tanks & tees, flowy blouses, casual knit sweaters, and even dressed up with a fitted blazer.  This is the new workhorse for your summer wardrobe.

I've been a big fan of distressed denim for years and am always on the hunt for that perfect pair.  Girls, I found them!  Meet the best denim shorts you'll ever buy: Joe's Jeans cut off shorts.  These have been such a staple in my closet for the past month that I've been wearing them with literally everything I own.  Additionally, {I'm not gonna beat around the bush here,} I purchased them in 2 different sizes because, yes, I love them that much.  I wanted a looser much more relaxed version as well as a normal fitted version.  Hello, summer uniform!

Distressed denim shorts have always managed to exude a free spirited, laid back vibe and that's what summer is all about, right?

Are you loving ripped up denim shorts as much as me?  Which one of the above is your fave?

OOTD - Casual Jeans + Tee

While I love getting dressed up and wearing fancy schmancy clothes, I truly am a jeans + tee shirt gal at heart {chalk it up to growing up in the Pacific Northwest!}.

Here's a super casual look that I wore the other day while running errands....

J.Crew 'merci' tee {here}
Rag & Bone denim {here}
Chanel Ballet Flats {similar style on sale here & extremely affordable version on sale here}
Chloe Marcie Medium Satchel {here + affordable version here and here}
Nars lipgloss "Coeur Sucre" {available here}

Lately, I am loving printed tees - especially this linen 'Merci' tee that I purchased from J.Crew last week.  It certainly adds a little bit of je ne sais quoi to this casual outfit :)  I paired my new tee with my favorite distressed rag & bone skinnies {that I practically LIVE in}, my Chanel ballet flats, a messy ponytail + a girly pink lipgloss.

Whats your go-to style?  Are you a casual jeans + tee kinda girl, or more polished & girly?  I'd like to get a better feel for what type of outfit of the day pics my readers are wanting me to share :)  Please leave feedback/comments below and let me know.

Happy weekend lovers! xx

Sweater Weather

Hi ladies!  I've been seeing so many pictures on instagram of everybody rocking their cozy Fall sweaters + boots and I'm not gonna lie...I'm totally jealous!  More than ever this year I'm craving sweater weather.  I have so many cute sweaters, jackets, and booties that are just sitting in my closet waiting for the temps to drop about 10 degrees more {since anything below 70 degrees feels freeeezing to us in Miami!}.

In the meantime, I wanted to show you a look that I wore when we were visiting my family in Washington state a few weeks ago.  The temps were in the mid 50's which meant an excuse to take a selfie in a sweater at my moms house SWEATER WEATHER!! ;)

Sweater - J.Crew {here} // Leggings - Veronica Beard {here} *Extremely expensive but most comfortable leggings I've ever owned* // Boots - Rag & Bone {here} // Clutch - Claire Vivier {here} //  Necklace - J.Crew {here}

I love the oversized length of this boxy sweater, especially when paired with leggings - super cute + flattering.

As I mentioned above, the leggings I'm wearing are very expensive, but they are by far the most comfy leggings I've ever owned.

Lastly, if you're on the fence about investing in a pair of Rag & Bone boots, definitely do it.  I've owned mine for about 2 years, and while it makes me a bit sad to see everyone wearing them these days, I can definitely understand why.  The quality of the boots is amazing, and they age so beautifully.  Definitely an investment piece, but you'll own them for years to come! xx

P.S. Tomorrow I have a scrumptious guilt free apple crisp recipe for you to try out!
